Some moments remind you why your voice matters, and today was one of those moments for me. I had the privilege of speaking at an Annual Women Empowerment Mother’s Day Brunch, and even though I’d prepared my speech weeks in advance—practicing it over and over—I ended up going completely off script. And honestly, I’m glad I did.
What happened in that room was bigger than any rehearsed words. As I opened up and shared my story, I could feel the energy shift. Women were listening with their whole hearts, and before I knew it, there wasn’t a dry eye in sight. That wasn’t my intention, but it reminded me of something important: vulnerability creates connection. When we share the real parts of our lives, we give others permission to do the same. We realize that our experiences overlap far more than we think.
After the speech, I handed out flyers and business cards so everyone had a sense of the work I’ve been doing and the journey I’m still on. But the real impact came in the conversations afterward. Women approached me with tears, with hugs, with stories of their own. We exchanged numbers, encouragement, and community in a way that felt genuine and unforgettable.
Today reminded me that empowerment doesn’t always come from perfection. It comes from honesty, from showing up as we are, and from creating space where other women feel seen. I’ll carry this moment with me for a long time.
