Elmont, NY — November 2025 — Local author, educator, and community advocate Susan Saint-Joy was honored with a prestigious Citation from Nassau County Legislator Carriè Solages (District 3) during her recent book signing event for Beyond the Bake Sale: The True Calling of a PTA President.

The recognition celebrates Saint-Joy’s outstanding contribution to leadership, community engagement, and parent-school advocacy through her newly released book, which has resonated with parents, PTA leaders, educators, and community members nationwide. The Citation acknowledges her work in elevating the conversation around school leadership and empowering families to take active roles in their school communities.

"Receiving this Citation is such a meaningful honor," said Saint-Joy. "I wrote this book to shine a light on the real work, courage, and heart behind PTA leadership. Knowing that the message is being embraced at both the local and state levels is incredibly humbling."

A Growing Impact Across New York & Beyond

This recognition comes shortly before Saint-Joy’s impactful presence as an exhibitor at the 129th Annual New York State PTA Convention, where she connected with PTA leaders from across the state. Attendees shared how Beyond the Bake Sale made them feel seen, validated, and supported—a reflection of the book’s growing influence in school communities.

After learning that the National PTA President, Yvonne Johnson, personally recommended her book to PTA leaders, Saint-Joy is now preparing to attend the National PTA Convention in 2026 to continue expanding her reach and message.
