Reimagining leadership to strengthen our community.

“Your Library. Your Voice. Your Elmont.” is about putting the community back at the center of every decision. It means the library should reflect the people who use it, not operate in a way that feels distant or disconnected. This campaign is about making sure the Elmont Library truly belongs to the people. Your library should work for you. Your voice should be heard. And together, we can build a library that reflects all of Elmont.”

“This is your library. You should see yourself in it, benefit from it, and feel proud of it.”

Your LIBRARY:

This is about access, ownership, and visibility.

The library belongs to the people of Elmont. Every resident should feel welcomed, represented, and comfortable walking through its doors. That means programs that reflect the community's diversity, resources that meet real needs, and spaces that are safe, modern, and engaging for all ages. It also means transparency in how decisions are made, how funds are used, and how services are delivered. This is not just a building. It is a shared community asset.

Your VOICE:

This is a signal of change.

Residents deserve to be heard, not just informed. Too often, decisions are made without meaningful input from the community.

Susan's campaign is about creating real channels for feedback, listening sessions, and community engagement where voices are not only heard but acted on. Your voice should influence programming, priorities, and the library's future direction.

“Your voice should not end at the door. It should help shape what happens inside.”

Your ELMONT:

Local pride and identity.

Elmont is unique, diverse, and evolving. The library should reflect that identity. From youth programs to senior services, from educational resources to cultural events, everything should feel connected to the people who live here. This is about building a library that grows with the community and supports its future.
